For Friday, May 27th:

In theatres this weekend, Top Gun: Maverick finally makes it to the big screen with Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, and Val Kilmer. And the Bob’s Burgers movie opens as well. The Belchers try to save the restaurant from closing as a sinkhole forms in front of it.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, the latest offering from the Star Wars universe debuts on Disney+ today. At a Star Wars Celebration event yesterday, there were teases for several other series in the franchise, including Willow – yes, like the original movie – and Harrison Ford crashed the party to say hey and get in a plug for the next, nearly-completed Indiana Jones movie. It will be in theatres next June.

Social media is full of tributes to Ray Liotta, star of ‘Goodfellas’ and Field of Dreams, and more recently, The Sopranos prequel movie ‘The Many Saints of Newark.’ He passed away in his sleep in the Dominican Republic. He was there working on his latest movie Dangerous Waters. Ray Liotta was just 67.

Coming to Netflix today is the first half of Stranger Things 4. Darkness returns to Hawkins just in time for spring break. The remaining episodes arrive in July.

In other headlines, Kevin Spacey has been charged in England with four counts of sexual assault.

Jodie Foster is going to star in True Detective season four for HBO

And all the he said/she said has come to an end. Amber Heard’s defense has rested in the Amber Heard/Johnny Depp defamation gong show.
