Move over Maverick… it’s Dino time! “Jurassic World: Dominion” took a big bite out of the box office, taking in nearly $144 million in North America, with a global total approaching $400 million. “Top Gun: Maverick” earned about $50 million to take second place.
At the 75th annual Tony Awards on Sunday night “A Strange Loop” won Best Musical, a first ever win for Ru Paul as one of the executive producers. Jennifer Hudson is also a producer on that musical and with that win she is now an EGOT winner...she has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony. And Michael Jackson’s kids Paris and Prince paid tribute to their dad, taking the stage to show support for “MJ: The Musical.”
Justin Bieber revealed the reason that he had to cancel some shows. He is suffering from partial facial paralysis after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. He could be sidelined for quite a while but the good news is, experts say with treatment the majority of people make a full recovery.
Colin Farrell has signed up for another TV project, this one a private detective story from Apple, called ‘Sugar.’ He is also set to star in an HBO Max spinoff of “The Batman,” in which he will reprise the role of Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin.
In case you missed it last week, Lizzo made her red carpet debut with boyfriend, comedian Myke Wright.
Sony announced on Friday that “Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version” is swinging its way into theaters in time for Labour Day weekend.
“Squid Game” will return for a second season, Netflix announced yesterday, but gave no release date.
