Celebrity Status – Avril, Selena, LOTR, And Dolly

Avril Lavigne — originally from Napanee, ON — received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday as she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut album. She brought a photo of her 16-yr-old self visiting the Walk of Fame and said she hopes her star will inspire the next small-town kid who “comes to Hollywood one day full of hopes and dreams.”
In what may be a case of art imitating life, J.K. Rowling‘s new novel, The Ink Black Heart — written under the pen name Robert Galbraith — has a character who is cancelled online for being transphobic. Rowling maintains that any similarities between her own life and this character are just coincidence.
The first episode of the new Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power TV series airs tonight on Prime. The remaining episodes will be released on Fridays.
