Celebrity Status – Writers Strike, Costner Divorce, And Ed Sheeran’s Doc
May 3, 2023 11:07 amFor Wednesday, May 3rd:
Kevin Costner‘s wife, Christine Costner, has filed for divorce. The announcement from his rep said “Circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” (Sounds like there’s more to the story than just the ‘irreconcilable differences’ she claims in her filing.)
About 11,000 film and television writers have walked off the job over claims that their pay has fallen in the streaming era. It’s already affecting late night talk shows… and it looks like Pete Davidson‘s hosting gig on this weekend’s SNL will be cancelled.
The docuseries ‘Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All’ comes to Disney+ today. And side note, if he loses the lawsuit claiming copyright infringement on Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get it On’, Ed says he’s done.
The band Fall Out Boy has announced Crynyl, a limited edition vinyl infused with their actual tears. There are only 50 copies available of ‘So Much (For) Stardust’ on Crynyl, which will come packaged in a box with a built-in, fully functional tissue dispenser.
Someone posted the entire Super Mario Bros movie to Twitter and it took more than seven hours (and 9 million views!) before it was removed.
