For Wednesday, January 24th:

After all was said and done yesterday, Oppenheimer leads the pack with 13 Oscar nominations… including all the major categories and more, with the exception of Best Original Song. Poor Things earned 11 nods, which also resulted in Emma Stone becoming a double nomineer. Barbie picked up 8 nominations, but Director Greta Gerwig was snubbed, as was Margot Robbie in the lead actress category, with many calling the omissions ‘tone deaf’, especially since Ryan Gosling did get a nod for his work in the movie.

Ryan Gosling said, ‘There is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie…’ Two songs from Barbie also received nominations. The Academy Awards will be held Sunday, March 10, airing live on ABC. The show will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, his fourth time in the gig.

Dwayne Johnson will join the board of TKO Group, the sports and entertainment company that houses the WWE and UFC. Fun Fact: he has never legally owned “The Rock.” It came from Johnson’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson, but with the new agreement he will now own the name.

Netflix has announced that Squid Game season 2 will be released sometime this year and a sequel to Adam Sandler’s ‘Leo’ is in the works
