Celebrity Status – Divorce Rumours, New Movies, And Buckle Up Blue Jays!
May 17, 2024 9:50 amFor Friday, May 17th:
The divorce rumors have begun for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. As with everything unconfirmed, take this with several grains of salt, but here’s the scoop: They haven’t been seen in public together since March 30th, when they were spotted house hunting in Manhattan. Then on May 14th, Lopez and her producing partner were seen shopping for real estate in Beverly Hills without Affleck (FYI: they already have an LA home) BUT they were both seen this week wearing their wedding rings, so fingers crossed that it’s a whole bunch of nothing.
In theaters, Ryan Reynolds stars in ‘IF’. IF stands for Imaginary Friends and lots of celebs are voicing the characters: Awkwafina, Bradley Cooper, Keegan-Michael Key and John Krasinski who’s directing, with other vocal cameos from Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Amy Schumer, Steve Carrell, George Clooney, Jon Stewart, Emily Blunt and the late Louis Gossett Jr., to whom the movie is dedicated.
Also in theatres, Marisa Abela portrays Amy Winehouse in the biopic ‘Back to Black’…
Magician David Copperfield is facing accusations of sexual misconduct by 16 women, many of whom were underage at the time. Some former employees seem to support these claims, saying Copperfield asked them to invite attractive women to join him after his shows. For his part, he’s denying everything.
Elsewhere, it’s Country Night at the Blue Jays game with Mildmay’s Owen Riegling doing a pregame performance. If you have tickets, gates open at 5:30.
Tomorrow night on SNL, Jake Gyllenhaal is the host for the season finale with musical guest Sabrina Carpenter.
And Sunday night The Simpsons and American Idol both have their season finales. It’s Katy Perry’s final show.
