Celebrity Status – Movies, More Dexter And Buckle Up Mildmay!

Rapper Sean Kingston was arrested in California yesterday on fraud charges after a SWAT team raided his Florida home and arrested his mother. A lawsuit was filed against Kingston in February accusing him of defrauding a Florida company that installed in his home a 17 foot long TV. Kingston is currently on two years’ probation for trafficking stolen property.

At the movies, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth hit the road for ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’…
Chris Pratt voices the famous lasagna-loving cat in ‘The Garfield Movie‘, both in theatres. And Glen Powell stars in ‘Hit Man,’ briefly coming to theatres before heading to Netflix.

On Netflix today, Jennifer Lopez stars in the new action film ‘Atlas’. She had no time for a reporter in Mexico this week who tried to ask about her “situation” with husband Ben Affleck while she was promoting the film. Her co-star Simu Liu jumped in saying “OK, we’re not doing that…” while J-Lo told the reporter “You know better than that.”

Elsewhere, ‘Dune: Part Two’ is available to now stream on Max… and Lady Gaga takes the stage for her “Gaga Chromatica Ball” concert film, finally coming to HBO today.

‘Dexter’ fans, get ready for the origin story. Patrick Gibson has been cast as a young Dexter, along with Christian Slater as his father and Molly Brown as his sister Debra. ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ takes place 15 years before the events of Dexter.

And Owen Riegling‘s Buckle Up tour hits Mildmay tonight at Harley’s (closing at 5pm.) Haley McNeil will open for him, but the show has long been sold out!
