Celebrity Status – Ryan And Rob And Wrexham Beer, And RIP Quincy Jones
November 4, 2024 9:48 amFor Monday, November 4th:
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have sold their stake in the Wrexham Football Club to the Allyn family of New York, and have apparently bought into a brewery, also with the Allyn family and the current owners, who will retain half ownership. Wrexham Lager is the oldest lager brewery in the United Kingdom, opening in Wales in 1882.
Music mogul Quincy Jones has passed away at the age of 91. He was instrumental in so many careers, from Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson, he produced “Thriller” which sold more than 20 million copies in 1983 alone…and he oversaw the all-star recording of “We Are the World.” He is survived by one son and 6 daughters, one of whom is actor Rashida Jones.
At the box office, ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ scored a second week at No. 1, pulling in another $26.1 million during a somewhat slow box office season. ‘The Wild Robot’ brought in just $7.6 million, good enough for second place with ‘Smile 2’ in third. The Tom Hanks movie ‘Here’ brought in a disappointing $5 million.
The Boss is getting the documentary treatment. “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band” is currently streaming on Disney+. They are currently on tour doing some canceled shows from last year; last night and again this Wednesday they’re in Toronto.
It’s US election day tomorrow and during her surprise Saturday Night Live appearance Vice President Kamala Harris was reminding viewers to ‘Keep Calm-ala and Carry On-ala’ (Oh and to vote, of course)
