Celebrity Status – NYE Specials, Grumpy Buddy The Elf, And J-Lo

For Tuesday, December 31st:

Will Ferrell attended the Los Angeles Kings game at Crypto Arena over the weekend dressed as a his character Buddy the Elf. Buddy is a huge Kings fan apparently, but he looked far from festive, with a 5 o’clock shadow and an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth. Hopefully he perked up a little when the Kings managed to beat the Flyers.

If you’re staying home tonight you can ring in the new year with ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025′ on ABC. It’s his 20th year hosting and he will lead the countdown alongside Rita Ora in Times Square, with performances from Lenny Kravitz, Teddy Swims and Carrie Underwood to close out the year. On the west coast, Alanis Morissette, and Kesha are among the performers… and Blake Shelton and the Jonas Brothers will perform from Las Vegas.

The 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship continues with tonight’s big rivalry matchup between Team Canada and Team USA. Pre-game coverage begins at 7:30 p.m.

‘The Day Drinking with Seth Meyers New Year’s Special’ is on NBC with lots of guest stars… George Stroumboulopoulos has a NYE special too tonight with some special guests.

And coming to Netflix tonight, a documentary about the musical artist Avicii, called ‘Avicii – I’m Tim’

And Jennifer Lopez did her own 2024 wrap up on Instagram yesterday. The video highlights her year, without any clips of Ben Affleck. For 2025, J-Lo will headline a new adaptation of the musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, premiering in January at the Sundance Film Festival.
