Celebrity Status – SNL Special, And No Oscar For Miley Or Gaga
December 18, 2024 10:22 amFor Wednesday, December 18th:
The Oscars shortlist is out for ten categories and in best original song, Miley Cyrus’ Golden Globe-nominated song “Beautiful That Way” from “The Last Showgirl” was not included. But she’s in good company. Lady Gaga’s “Folie à Deux” song from the “Joker” sequel was also excluded from the shortlist of contenders. Songs from Wicked can’t be considered because they are all two decades old, and not original to the film.
Yesterday, Tom Cruise was awarded the Distinguished Public Service Award, the U.S. Navy’s top civilian honour for “outstanding contributions to the Navy and the Marine Corps” with movies like “Top Gun”, A Few Good Men and the Mission Impossible movies. His next on-screen adventure, “Mission: Impossible: The Final Reckoning,” is due for release next May.
Tonight on NBC it’s A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special, highlighting memorable Christmas-themed sketches from its 50 seasons. And it’s also the season finales of Survivor on CBS and The Masked Singer on Fox
And get excited parents! A Bluey Movie is in the works! The Australian hit is coming soon-ish to the big screen; the studio is aiming for a 2027 worldwide theatrical release under the Disney banner
