Celebrity Status – New Movies, Outlander, And Two Farewells

At the movies, ‘The Room Next Door’ stars Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton as friends whose lives grew apart and who meet again in an extreme situation. Also in theaters, ‘Wish You Were Here’ has Julia Stiles making her directorial debut. Based on a novel, it’s about leaving the everyday world behind to take a chance on true romance. Jennifer Grey and Kelsey Grammer are among the cast.

David Lynch, the filmmaker celebrated for his uniquely dark and dreamlike vision in movies such as “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive” and the TV series “Twin Peaks,” has died just days before his 79th birthday. The cause of death was not immediately available, but last summer, Lynch had revealed that he was diagnosed with emphysema.

The ‘Outlander’ Season 7 finale tonight is said to be shocking (unless you’ve read the books??) Then, there’s just one more season to look forward to! And immediately following the finale, Jamie — I mean, Sam Heughan — stars in ‘The Couple Next Door’, a sexy, six-part psychological drama. Meanwhile, the Outlander prequel ‘Blood of My Blood’ has announced a summer premiere date. A teaser trailer is out now.

‘Back in Action’ on Netflix stars Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz as former CIA spies who get pulled back in when their cover is blown. Jamie Foxx suffered a stroke during filming of this movie back in April of 2023.

Tomorrow night, comedian Dave Chappelle will host SNL, with musical guest GloRilla…

And RIP to Mr. Baseball, Bob Uecker. The former MLB catcher became a Hall of Fame sportscaster and comedic actor, known for roles in the ‘Major League’ movies and the TV show Mr. Belvedere.
