Celebrity Status – Wildfire Devastation, Celeb Breakups And The SAG Noms

For Thursday, January 9th:

The devastation of the Los Angeles area wildfires in Malibu, Pacific Palisades and elsewhere continues. Five people have died and countless others have lost their homes. Billy Crystal and his wife have lived in their home for nearly 50 years, but it’s now gone. Eugene Levy, Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, John Goodman, Anthony Hopkins and Miles Teller are among the celebrities who’ve also lost their homes.

Nominations for the SAG Awards came out yesterday by press release instead of live announcement due to the situation. After losing at the golden globes, Angelina Jolie has now been snubbed by both the BAFTAs and the SAG nominating committee. ‘Wicked’ and ‘A Complete Unknown’, however, scored multiple nominations. The SAG Awards will be handed out on Netflix on February 23rd. Meanwhile, the Critics Choice Awards, scheduled for this Sunday, have been postponed until January 26th.

In case you can’t get enough of it, The View will now air 7 days a week. Its new Saturday and Sunday edition — “The Weekend View” — will stream each weekend, and will be hosted by the show’s Friday panel.

In other celebrity news, Meghan Markle is heartbroken and mourning the loss of her rescue dog Guy, a beagle she adopted during her time in Toronto.

And heartbreak of a different kind in Hollywood… Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler — arguably the best-looking celebrity couple — have split up after three years together. And Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are heading for divorce after 15 years.
