Celebrity Status – Kendrick Leads AMAs, YOU Final Season, And Snoop Comes Back!

For Thursday, April 24th:

Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s American Music Awards nominations. He’s up for 10 awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year, where he’ll face competition from Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, and more. Post Malone has eight nominations, while Billie, Chappell and Shaboozey have seven each. The show airs live from Vegas on May 26th.

On Monday night… Baylee Littrell, son of Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell, saw his journey on American Idol come to an end. As part of the top 20 he landed somewhere below 10th and did not move on. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg will return to The Voice in season 28, airing this fall. There’s no word yet on who will be vacating the coaching chairs.

The first trailer for the second season of ‘Wednesday’ – the most watched show in Netflix‘s history – shows Joanna Lumley and Steve Buscemi in their new roles, alongside a host of returning favourites. The new season will be split in two – releasing the first episodes on August 6th and the remainder on September 3rd.

The Hunger Games prequel ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ has cast Joseph Zada as its young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Woody Harrelson in the original. The movie will hit theatres next November.
