For Monday, August 18th:

At the box office, “Weapons” starring Josh Brolin and Julia Garner, managed to stay at the top of the heap during its second weekend with $25 million in ticket sales, beating out “Freakier Friday” and new release “Nobody 2.” Those movies came in second and third, respectively.

The Masters of the Universe character Roboto will be voiced by Kristen Wiig in the Amazon MGM and Mattel big-budget movie. Nicholas Galitzine is the sword-wielding prince and Jared Leto is Skeletor. Idris Elba is also in the movie which comes to theatres next year. Before that, Kristen Wigg will appear as the villain in ‘Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie’ hitting theatres Sept. 26th.

On a recent podcast, Jason Momoa talked about his son Wolf and how he discouraged him from a career in acting. But now the 16-yr-old is cast as Leto II, one of the two twin children of Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya’s characters in ‘Dune: Part Three.’ It probably didn’t hurt that the elder Momoa is in the movie too.

During a recent interview with Collider, James Gunn said he has completed the treatment for his “Superman” follow-up and is turning that into a script. He and his team are currently scheduling production for the sequel and he says we will be seeing it ‘sooner rather than later.’

ICYMI: On Friday, rapper Sean Kingston sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for that $1 million fraud scheme. He was convicted of wire fraud in March, following a federal trial. He and his mother, Janice Turner, were each found guilty on five counts. Last month, she was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
