September 15, 2025 11:00 amFor Monday, September 15th:
At the Emmys last night, Seth Rogan‘s show The Studio was the big winner of the night with 13 wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for Rogan. Noah Wylie won his first Emmy — Lead Actor in a Drama — for The Pitt, and the show also won Best Drama. Jean Smart won for Best Comedy Actress in Hacks, and The Traitors took home Outstanding Reality Competition Program. Netflix’s Adolescence picked up 8 awards, including Outstanding Limited series. And Stephen Colbert got a standing ovation after The Late Show won for Outstanding Talk Series. He then asked if anybody was hiring, passing his resume to Harrison Ford to give it to Spielberg.
At the CCMAs in Kelowna over the weekend, Owen Riegling took home the Album of the Year for Bruce County (From The Beginning)… the award is presented by Ford and came with a new F-150. Other winners included Cameron Whitcomb, taking home both the Fans’ Choice and Breakthrough Artist or Group… and Grey County’s Tyler Beckett was honoured with Fiddle Player of the Year.
“Hamnet,” Chloe Zhao’s drama about William Shakespeare’s marriage and the death of their 11-year-old son, won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival as it wrapped up yesterday. Winners of the top honor at TIFF have historically almost always gone on to land a best-picture Oscar nomination.
Taylor Swift reportedly entered the stadium for Travis Kelce‘s first home game behind a rolling partition, according to videos taken in the tunnel. Very cloak and dagger… and in an interview prior to kickoff, Travis admitted to a few tears here and there and that his “palms were definitely sweating” before popping the question.
And Illumination and Nintendo have announced that the animated Super Mario Bros. 2 movie will be called ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’. It comes to theatres in April
