Celebrity Status – Downton, TIFF, A Wedding, And Two Babies!

Fans can go star gazing in Toronto this weekend with about 700 celebs expected to be in the city for The Toronto International Film Festival as it celebrates its 50th this year. As part of the opening-day festivities today, there will be a ceremonial cake cutting and the unveiling of the Festival’s own star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.

Ryan Reynolds is one of those celebs… he will be on hand to help open the Festival tonight with the documentary ‘John Candy: I Like Me’ directed by Colin Hanks . It will explore the life and legacy of the beloved comedic actor, who died of a heart attack in 1994 at the age of 43. and ‘Nirvana: the Band the Show the Movie’ is the midnight madness opener.

Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery, aka Lady Mary, had lots to celebrate at the premiere of the new Downton movie. She is expecting her first child with husband Jasper Waller-Bridge, brother to Phoebe Waller-Bridge. “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” will be released on Sept. 12.  And judging by her baby bump, it looks like the baby’s arrival is still about 3 or 4 months away.

Lady Gaga canceled her concert last night in Miami just minutes before the scheduled start time due to vocal strain. No word if she will perform at New York’s Madison Square Garden this weekend or on Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards. The Mayhem Ball Tour is also supposed to be in Toronto next week for three shows.

ICYMI: Noah Kahan married his longtime girlfriend August 23rd in an intimate ceremony in Vermont. Theirs has been a very private relationship, with media outlets choosing NOT to divulge her identity. He will be in London next week for Rock the Runway with Miles Smith, The Strumbellas and Tyler Shaw.

Penn Badgley of YOU and Gossip Girl fame is a dad again — and again! He and his wife Domino Kirke recently added identical twin boys to their family.
