Taylor Swift’s new album “Life of a Showgirl” and the companion movie will be released today, the movie just for a limited time. On the album, Taylor puts her own spin on George Michael’s hit ‘Father Figure’ and his estate has expressed approval. She did give him songwriting credit, as one should when sampling. And everyone else is busy dissecting every line of every song to figure out who or what it’s about. Travis, Blake, Charli XCX??
At the movies, besides Taylor’s behind the scenes Showgirl movie… Dwayne Johnson is MMA fighter Mark Kerr in ‘The Smashing Machine’. Matthew McConaughey is the school bus driver on a white-knuckle ride through a wildfire. America Ferrera also stars in ‘The Lost Bus’ on Apple TV+… Plus, on Netflix Charlie Hunnam takes on a killer role in “Monster: The Ed Gein Story.”
In other movie news, the Quentin Tarantino epic Kill Bill series of films will be released as one movie in early December, called ‘’Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.’’
Saturday Night Live returns this weekend with the season 51 premiere. Bad Bunny will host with musical guest Doja Cat.
And Lori Loughlin (aunt Becky from Full House!) and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are splitting up after 28 years of marriage.
