Celebrity Status – Box Office, Harry Styles And SNL

For Monday December 29th:

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” kept the box office ablaze over the Christmas weekend. The latest entry in James Cameron’s sci-fi saga added $64 million in North America and its global total now stands at $760 million. “Marty Supreme” starring Timothee Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow came in second with $27 million, and Disney’s “Zootopia 2” brought in another $20 million, good enough for third place.

Harry Styles fueled album rumors over the break with a surprise music drop. The nearly nine-minute video is titled “Forever, Forever,” and includes his performance of an emotional piano ballad that he played at the final stop on his 2023 tour. Since then he’s been laying low for the most part, so fans have decided it means he has something planned for 2026… and they’re probably not wrong.

“Saturday Night Live” is on a holiday hiatus. This Saturday will be a rerun of the Nov. 1 episode hosted by Miles Teller with musical guest Brandi Carlile. Jan. 10 will also be a repeat. The first new episode of 2026 takes place on Saturday, Jan. 17, with Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard making his hosting debut joined by musical guest A$AP Rocky. I’ll start the speculation now that Rihanna will show up too!

Netflix has the debut of the new reality series ‘Members Only: Palm Beach’ (which is reality for only a few, I dare say) …and on TV tonight, ‘The Year: 2025’ is a special on ABC. And the season premiere of ‘Don’t Hate Your House With the Property Brothers is on HGTV (because those guys aren’t nearly busy enough!)
