Celebrity Status – Box Office On Fire, Secret Celeb Wedding And SNL

In theatres, “Avatar: Fire and Ash” set the box office ablaze with an $88 million debut in North America, and a scorching $345 million globally. The animated Christian film “David” came in 2nd, “The Housemaid” was 3rd and “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” came in 4th.

On Saturday Night Live, Ariana Grande was there for Bowen Yang as he made a tearful exit. As Saturday’s host, Ariana appeared in Yang’s final sketch after six and a half seasons as a cast member. The two have become friends, starring in the Wicked movies together. “I’m grateful for every minute,” Yang said of his time on the show.

Saturday Night Live also said goodbye to one of the show’s earliest hosts. During its final moments on Saturday, the show took time to pay tribute to director Rob Reiner less than a week after his murder. Just before the show’s goodnights segment, a tribute card flashed on screen showing an image of him from early in his career.
