Celebrity Status – Box Office, Critic’s Choice Winners And Miley

James Cameron is well on his way to a fourth title on the top 10 highest grossing films of all time. “Avatar: Fire and Ash” burns through the $1 billion mark at the global box office, taking in another $40 million in North America. “Zootopia 2” is still locked in at number 2 and “The Housemaid” cleaned up with a third place finish this week.
2026 Critics Choice Awards were handed out yesterday and Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners”, starring Michael B. Jordan, led the pack with 17 nominations and won four. “Frankenstein” also picked up 4 wins, “One Battle After Another” starring Leonardo DiCaprio took home three. Timothée Chalamet won best actor for “Marty Supreme”, Best Actress went to Jessie Buckley for “Hamnet”.
Best Animated Feature went to “KPop Demon Hunters.” Best Song was “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters”…and on the TV side, Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ led the nominees with 6 nods, taking home 4 awards. Other wins included three for ‘The Pitt’, two for ‘Hacks’, and one for ‘Severance.’ Noah Wylie was Best Actor and Rhea Seehorn won Best Actress for Pluribus.
Meanwhile, at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards, Miley Cyrus showed up looking a bit like her former alter ego, Hannah Montana with fresh bangs. She gave no clue about the plans for the show’s 20th anniversary in March, but she did walk away with the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her new song “Dream As One,” which is featured in “Avatar: Fire and Ash.”
And actor Mickey Rourke is asking fans to donate to help ‘prevent eviction’ after falling behind on his rent by $60K
