Celebrity Status – SAG Award Noms, And Live Action ‘Tangled’ Casting

For Thursday, January 8th:

The 2026 Actor Awards, previously known as the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, revealed this year’s nominations. “Sinners” received multiple nominations including one for Michael B. Jordan. Other nominees include Timothée Chalamet, Emma Stone, Jacob Elordi, and Leonardo DiCaprio. While Cynthia Erivo was snubbed this time, she is nominated for a Golden Globe this Sunday but she’ll miss the ceremony due to her upcoming production of “Dracula” on London’s West End.

TV nominations included Noah Wyle for The Pitt, Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, Kristen Wiig in Palm Royale, Seth Rogen in the Studio, Jean Smart for Hacks, Jenna Ortega for Wednesday and several from the White Lotus including Walton Goggins. Harrison Ford will be this year’s Life Achievement Award recipient.

Disney’s live-action ‘Tangled’ movie has found its lead actors. Entertainment Weekly reports Teagan Croft will play the princess, aka Rapunzel, while Milo Manheim will be Flynn Rider. Croft is an Australian actress and Manheim is the son of actress Camryn Manheim and he is best known for Disney Channel’s movie-musical Zombies.

“The Housemaid” star Sydney Sweeney and director Paul Feig did something bad, and it felt so good that Lionsgate is going to let them do it again. Thanks to the box office success of the psychological thriller —  the studio has greenlit a sequel titled “The Housemaid’s Secret.” The project is based on the second novel in Freida McFadden’s best-selling trilogy.

Sebastian Stan may be headed for Gotham City. The Oscar-nominated star of “The Apprentice” is in talks to join Robert Pattinson in DC Studios’ “The Batman Part II.”
