Celebrity Status: Talking Beavers And The Bride Of Frankenstein

In theatres… in the new animated comedy ‘Hoppers’, Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) uses a new technology to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. The all-star voice ensemble also features Meryl Streep, Dave Franco, and Kathy Najimy.

In 1930s Chicago, Frankenstein’s monster asks Dr. Euphronius to create a companion for him. Together, they give life to a murdered woman known as “the Bride”, sparking romance, police interest and radical social change. The cast is loaded in this one, with Jessie Buckley as Ida “The Bride” / Mary Shelley, Christian Bale as Frank, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal, Penélope Cruz, and Julianne Hough. 

In the movie War Machine, a combat engineer must lead his unit in a fight against an otherworldly threat. It comes to Netflix Friday, starring Alan Ritchson, Canada’s Stephan James and Dennis Quaid.

The 8th and final season of Outlander premieres Friday on STARZ and the W Network in Canada.

Ryan Gosling hosts “SNL” and Gorillaz the musical guest.
