Celebrity Status – Box Office, Wildfires, And Toad Storms Off
January 13, 2025 12:00 pmFor Monday, January 13th:
It was a quiet weekend at the movies, with “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” debuting at number one with just $15.5 million. “Mufasa” found itself in second place after four weeks in theatres and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was third. The Robbie Williams movie “Better Man” and “The Last Showgirl” with Pamela Anderson earned 1.5 million or less
Now streaming on Disney+ ‘Tsunami: Race Against Time’, a docuseries that recounts the tragic events of the Indian Ocean tsunami that took over 225,000 lives on Boxing Day 2004.
In Los Angeles the wildfires continue to burn and thousands more have lost their homes. Paris Hilton posted a video of the rubble that was her neighbourhood in Malibu, recognizing that she’s fortunate to have another home. And Chuck D of Public Enemy is asking fans to please stop using their song ‘Burn Hollywood Burn’ in videos of the fires, saying the protest song “has nothing to do with families losing everything in a natural disaster.”
In the wake of all that, the premiere of Meghan Markle‘s new show With Love, Meghan has been pushed to March, according to Netflix’s announcement which said the Duchess herself requested the delay while they focus on recovery in her home state of California
And on a lighter note…Macy Gray ‘stormed off’ The Masked Singer U.K. stage dressed as ‘Toad in the Hole’ after she was eliminated. (Can a toad storm off? lol) She tried to say goodbye and she choked, apparently. This was her third appearance on a version of the show; she placed fourth on the US version in Season 10.
