5 Things You Need To Know For April 15, 2026
April 15, 2026 5:55 amApril 15th is the 105th day of the year. There are 260 days remaining until the end of the year.

It’s Movie Night at the Capitol Theatre.
Stop by tonight at 7 p.m. to see Rental Family.
Admission is $7 or flash your movie pass for entry. Check here for more info.

As of Sunday you’ll pay less to use the Ambassador Bridge.

As of January 1st of this year, the cost to cross the bridge was $10.00 (US) Starting Monday, that will fall to only $5.50 (US) – if you have a Premier pass. The cash or credit card rates have not changed.
Membership program tolls at the Gordie Howe International Bridge will be $4.35 (US) whenever that opens.

When you tune in to the Tigers or Blue Jays tonight, you might have a tough time identifying your favourite player.

They’ll all be wearing the same number; 42.
That’s in honour of Jackie Robinson. 79 years ago today, in 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in a regular season Major League baseball game.
Fifty years later, in 1997, the Number 42 was permanently retired throughout all of Major League Baseball. That was Jackie’s number when he was with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
The last guy to wear it was Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera. He retired in 2013, the same year Chadwick Boseman played Jackie in 42.

Speaking of baseball…
One month from today: the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers will play their first home game of 2026.

The Barnstormers will open their third CBL season at home vs the Guelph Royals at Fergie Jenkins Field.
The team is planning an exhibition game a week before, with no admission for fans.

The World Naked Bike Ride is returning to Toronto this Spring.
The bike ride is a global protest in cities all around the world where bikers gather and protest against the over usage of oil, urban pollution, cycle safety on roads, and encourage body freedom for everyone.
The ride will take place on June 13th starting at 1 p.m.
There is no registration required so ditch your clothes and grab your bike and helmet.
