Tim Hortons Smile Cookies return today!
If you purchase the chocolate chunk cookies with pink and blue icing smiles in Blenheim, Ridgetown, Tilbury and Thamesville, proceeds will support the VON’s Ontario Student Nutrition Program. The program provides funding and support to 42 schools in Chatham Kent.
In Chatham, Wallaceburg and Dresden, proceeds from the Smile Cookie sales will support the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.
Each cookie will cost $2. The 2025 campaign saw $22.6 million raised for different charities and community groups across the country.
The campaign runs from until May 3rd.

Beginning today Ontario is officially clamping down on ticket scalping under the Ticket Sales Act.
The new rules make it illegal to resell concert, sports, and live event tickets for more than the original all-in price, including fees and taxes. The Ontario government says the goal is to stop price gouging and make tickets more affordable and transparent for fans.
Ticketmaster Canada is removing resale listings that exceed the cap and is updating its system so future resales automatically comply. Sellers are being told to relist tickets at legal prices only.
Penalties for breaking the rules could reach $10,000.


An earthquake rocked Amherstburg Sunday morning.
A 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck at 10:32 a.m. seven kilometres southeast of Amherstburg confirmed the U.S. Geological Survey. There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected.
Earthquakes Canada has confirmed the quake, saying it was 5km below the surface.
