The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation launched the Igniting Healthcare Retro 50/50 at RetroFest over the weekend.
It will run until June 25th. The fundraiser supports priority healthcare needs at CKHA’s Chatham and Wallaceburg hospitals, including equipment and facility upgrades.
Tickets are available online and in person, with prices starting at $10. The grand prize will be draw is on June 25th.

The 2026 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix this weekend, so expect delays and detours if you plan on crossing the border.

The Windsor-Detroit Tunnel will stay open during the race, but drivers will be detoured right once getting into Detroit. Coming back to Windsor is a bit trickier – traffic will be routed along I-375 before reconnecting to the tunnel entrance. Heavier traffic is expected during peak times; Saturday morning between 10 and 11 a.m., with another increase around 6 p.m. heading back to Windsor.
The Grand Prix runs Friday through Sunday in downtown Detroit.

A huge new international grocery store is coming to Mississauga.

Food World Plus will open a massive 176,000-square-foot supermarket featuring foods from around the world, including Caribbean, Middle Eastern, Eastern European, and Asian products.
The store will include halal and kosher butcher counters, giant seafood and deli sections, a sushi and juice bar, a breakfast café, Korean skincare products, and even a 1,000-foot candy aisle.
The store will have 1,100 parking spaces. No opening date has been announced yet.

The temperatures are warming up in C-K, but nothing like what is happening in Europe.
A dangerous spring heat wave is sweeping across Western Europe, with the United Kingdom breaking a century-old temperature record for the last two days. London hit 35.1 degrees Celsius yesterday, while France and Spain also saw temperatures far above normal for May.
Officials are warning that the extreme heat is putting lives at risk, with several drownings reported in Britain and France as people tried to cool off.
Back home in Chatham-Kent, sunshine and a high of 27°C.
