5 Things You Need To Know For June 10, 2026
June 10, 2026 5:55 amJune 10th is the 161st day of the year. There are 204 days remaining until the end of the year.

We’ve got our first Heat Warning of the year – Environment Canada has issued a yellow heat warning for Chatham-Kent.
With the humidex, it could feel like 40°C today. The heat is expected to last into Thursday. It may continue Friday into Saturday.
Extreme heat can affect anyone’s health, but some people are at higher risk of heat-related illness.

Check in on older adults, people who live alone, and others who may be vulnerable. Reach out in person or by phone several times a day during periods of extreme heat.
Watch for early signs of heat exhaustion in yourself and others, including heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, headache, or fainting. Never leave people, especially children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.

The Chatham Capitol Theatre and Kiwanis Theatre released their seasons for 2026-27 last night.

The Kiwanis Theatre returns with a season for the first time in years.

We told you yesterday that the Gordie Howe International Bridge was expected to hold its ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday. Now, we’re hearing the new bridge could open to traffic as soon as Monday.
The $6.4-billion crossing connects Windsor and Detroit and features the longest cable-stayed bridge span in North America.
Construction started back in 2018, and while the project has been largely complete since last year, crews have been busy with final testing and preparations.
Officials haven’t officially confirmed either date, and continue to say only that a spring opening is expected.

The World Naked Bike Ride is returning to Toronto this weekend.
The bike ride is a global protest in cities all around the world where bikers gather and protest against the over usage of oil, urban pollution, cycle safety on roads, and encourage body freedom for everyone.
The ride will take place Saturday starting at 1pm. There is no registration required so ditch your clothes and grab your bike and helmet. Organizers suggest wearing sunscreen…everywhere!
