One of the longest-running traditions in Canadian broadcasting is coming to an end. Hockey Night in Canada will no longer air on CBC beginning next season.

Rogers and the CBC decided not to renew their sublicensing agreement. The partnership, began in 2014, expired following the Stanley Cup playoffs. Rogers’ new 12-year, $11-billion national media rights deal with the NHL is now in place.

The iconic Hockey Night in Canada brand will continue under Rogers, but viewers will have to watch through Sportsnet platforms rather than CBC television. CBC will replace Saturday night hockey with programming focused on Canadian athletes, international competitions, women’s professional sports, and major championship events. The change ends nearly 75 years of NHL broadcasts on the public broadcaster.

Next time you shop at Dollarama, it could come with a few extra perks.

Dollarama is teaming up with BMO’s Blue Rewards program, giving customers a way to earn points on eligible purchases. The partnership is designed to help Canadians get more value from their everyday spending at a time when affordability is still top of mind.

Program details points are expected as the program rolls out.

The Grammy Awards are expanding.

The Recording Academy announced five new categories for the 2027 ceremony, including Best Asian Pop Music Performance, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Best Latin Song, Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance, and Best Traditional Folk Album.

They have also updated the Best New Artist rules, allowing artists to be considered up to four times instead of three, recognizing that many performers now take longer to achieve mainstream success.
