The Ford International Fireworks Show is tonight on the Windsor/Detroit waterfront. This is the 68th year of the show.

The 24-minute show is expected to start at 10:06pm.

Downtown Windsor traffic restrictions begin at 6 p.m., and parking is expected to be limited. To help spectators get to the event, Transit Windsor is offering free city bus service from 6 p.m. to midnight, along with a complimentary shuttle running continuously between Devonshire Mall and downtown.

Windsor Police are also reminding families to take a photo of their children before heading out, showing the clothes they’re wearing that evening. The image can help officers quickly identify a missing child if families become separated. Parents are encouraged to ensure children have identification when appropriate, know a parent or guardian’s phone number, and agree on a designated meeting spot in advance.


The summer officially arrived Sunday at 4:24 a.m.

Today is the official first full day of of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

The first day of Summer It brings the greatest amount of daylight of the year, known as “the longest day of the year”—not a longer 24-hour day. Daylight hours will gradually begin decreasing after the next few days until the winter solstice in December.


The Canada Strong Pass launched Friday and provides a range of travel and cultural discounts across the country through the summer.

Key benefits include:

  • Free admission to national parks, national historic sites, and marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada.
  • A 25% discount on camping fees at national parks.
  • Free admission to national museums for children 17 and under, with 50% off for visitors aged 18 to 24.
  • Free fares for children 17 and under travelling with an adult on Via Rail, plus 25% off for travellers aged 18 to 24.
  • Selected participating provincial and territorial museums and galleries are offering free admission for children 17 and under, and a 50% discount for visitors aged 18 to 24.

There’s no physical pass or registration required—eligible visitors simply receive the applicable benefits at participating locations.

The initiative was a campaign promise by the Liberal Party during the most recent federal election.


Oreo has put a campfire spin on its classic cookie with the new limited-edition Fudge Covered Campfire S’mOREO.

The chocolate sandwich cookie is coated in fudge and rolled in graham cracker crumbs, with marshmallow-flavoured crème to recreate the taste of a traditional s’more.

The snack is being released in the U.S. for a limited time, and there’s no official word yet on a Canadian launch.
