Tomorrow is Canada Day- Canada turns 159!

The national day of Canada, The federal statutory holiday celebrates the anniversary of Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867. Originally called Dominion Day, the holiday was renamed in 1982

Municipal offices and most services will be closed Wednesday, July 1 in recognition of Canada Day. Ride CK Transit services will not operate July 1 and July 1 waste collection will be delayed by one day.


As for our holiday forecast, spoiler alert: it’s still very hot.

The heat warning for Chatham-Kent has been upgraded from yellow to orange.

Environment Canada is calling for sunshine to start on Canada Day, then a slight chance we’ll see an afternoon shower. With the humidex, it will feel like 45C on Wednesday.


The Chatham Concert Band is back in Tecumseh Park tomorrow night!

Every Wednesday at 7:30 during the Summer bring your lawn chair and relax in the park with the Concert Band for a free show.


The Chatham-Kent Public Library hosts Movies @ Your Library every Tuesday at the Chatham branch.
