Announced early on Wednesday; Zellers is making another big comeback in Ontario.
The discount retailer announced new locations opening this summer at Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall and Windsor’s Tecumseh Mall.
The relaunch is evolving after customers asked for more than just clothing and home décor. New stores will now feature toys, candy, snacks, and family-focused products aimed at bringing back the classic Zellers experience many Canadians remember.
Nostalgia is playing a major role in the return, with plans to expand into more major Canadian cities in the months ahead.
Zellers first shut down in 2013 after many of its locations were taken over by Target Canada.

After launching just three years ago, Tim Hortons is shutting down the Tims Mastercard program this October.
Customers were notified by email that while their cards will still work after October 1st, accounts will be transferred fully to Neo Financial and users will stop earning Tims Rewards points through the card.
The no-fee credit card launched in 2023 and offered bonus points on Tim Hortons purchases, groceries, gas, and transit. The reaction from users has been mixed, with some customers disappointed about losing rewards tied to their daily coffee runs.

A rare albino buffalo in Bangladesh is drawing massive crowds after going viral online for its blond tuft of hair that people say resembles U.S. President Donald Trump.
The 700-kilogram buffalo was originally sold to be sacrificed during the Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha, but authorities stepped in at the last minute because of public attention and security concerns.
The animal has now been moved to the national zoo in Dhaka, where visitors are lining up in the heat to snap photos and videos. Zoo workers have even been brushing the buffalo’s hair and cooling it with water and fans.
Many visitors find it funny, others in Bangladesh say comparing a world leader to a farm animal is disrespectful.
