For winning the World Cup, Spain gets $50 million. Argentina gets $33 million for second place, England pockets $29 million for coming in third, and fourth place finisher France gets $27 million.

The halftime show featured Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber, BTS and still Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem stole the spotlight.

Major League Baseball released the 2027 schedule last week.

Next season will be the earliest Opening Day in MLB history. There has never been an Opening Day before March 26, but that changes in 2027. The season officially begins with one game on March 24th.

The Toronto Blue Jays will open their 2027 season against the New York Yankees on the road March 25th. The home opener is April 2, against the Seattle Mariners.

The Detroit Tigers will begin their season at home against the Chicago White Sox on March 25th.

The Jays come to Detroit June 14-16, the Tigers head to Toronto July 16-18th.

Today is the 57th anniversary of the first moon landing.

On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 made history as the first manned spacecraft to land on the Moon. The crew included Commander Neil Armstrong, Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin, and Command Module Pilot Michael Collins.

The astronauts traveled approximately 240,000 miles (386,000 kilometres) from Earth to the Moon in just 76 hours. An estimated 600 million people worldwide watched the historic mission unfold on television.

At 4:17 p.m., the lunar module Eagle touched down on the Moon.

Then, at 10:56 p.m., Neil Armstrong stepped onto the lunar surface and delivered one of the most famous lines in history: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
