Dover Centre Memorial Park is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a special weekend of events.

The celebration begins Friday evening with family activities and baseball at the park. On Saturday, there’s a parade at 11 a.m. , the Canadian Cowgirls, pony rides, and a dinner and dance at Hidden Hills Golf Course featuring the Milhouse Band. The weekend wraps up Sunday morning with a memorial service and community BBQ.

As of Tuesday, Canadians can now renew eligible passports online, eliminating the need to visit a Service Canada office or mail in paperwork.

Adults whose current passport was issued within the last 15 years can apply from home, upload a digital passport photo, and track their application online.

The July full moon, known as the Buck Moon, lights up the sky tonight. It officially reaches its full phase this morning, but the best viewing comes after sunset as it rises in the southeastern sky.

The Buck Moon is named for the time of year when male deer begin growing new antlers. As it rises, it may appear larger with a warm orange glow before brightening higher in the sky. No telescope is needed—just clear skies and a good view of the horizon. It’s a simple chance for people across Chatham-Kent to enjoy one of summer’s best skywatching events.

There was a single winning ticket sold in Florida that matched all six numbers to win last night’s $800 million Mega Millions jackpot.

The winner can choose the full jackpot paid over 30 years or take a one-time cash option of about $344.2 million before taxes. The winning numbers were 34, 48, 49, 59, 70 with Mega Ball 12.

The jackpot had grown over 38 drawings without a winner, and now resets for the next draw on Friday.
