Canada’s historic FIFA World Cup run has come to an end.
Canada fell 3-0 Saturday to Morocco in the Round of 16 in Houston. After a scoreless first half, Morocco scored 3 to advance to the quarter-finals, where they’ll face France.
Despite the loss, the tournament marked a milestone for Canadian soccer. The team recorded the country’s first-ever World Cup victory, and reached the knockout stage for the first time.
In a message to supporters, the team thanked Canadians for their support:
“To everyone who sang, travelled, filled stadiums, wore the crest with pride and believed alongside us… thank you. You carried us every step of the way,” the team said. “History wasn’t just made on the pitch. It was made in homes, schools, parks, pubs and communities across the country.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were married Friday at New York’s Madison Square Garden, surrounded by family, friends, and an A-list guest list.
Actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, while guests reportedly included some of the biggest names in music, sports, and Hollywood.
The event featured tight security, a no-phone policy, and transformed the iconic arena into an elegant wedding venue.
Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 and got engaged last year.

The 2026 Wife-Carrying World Championships took place over the weekend in Sonkajärvi, Finland.
The annual event challenges competitors to race a 253-metre obstacle course while carrying a partner over hurdles, through sand and a water pit.
Despite the name, participants don’t have to be married. This year’s champions, Taisto Miettinen and Katja Kovanen of Finland, are actually just friends.
Sixty teams from 12 countries competed, with the winners taking home the traditional prize: the carried partner’s weight in beer.
