It’s a Summer Movie Doubleheader Day at the Chatham Capitol Theatre today.

Bring the family out this afternoon for a family activity at 2 p.m, then stick around to see Finding Dory beginning at 3 p.m. Bend It Like Beckham will be on the big screen tonight beginning at 7 p.m.

It’s taken six years, but the parking garage at Caesars Windsor is finally fully open.

Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander has announced that this will be his last season. The 43-year-old says he’ll retire after the 2026 season, ending a 21-year run in the majors.

A three-time Cy Young Award winner, two-time World Series champion and the American League MVP in 2011, Verlander ranks eighth all-time with 3,554 strikeouts and has won 266 games. Injuries have limited him to just one appearance this season.

Verlander will be honoured at next week’s All-Star Game as a special Legend Pick.
