Kids Help Phone says texts from young people seeking help overnight are now about 183% higher than during the daytime. Overall, overnight texting is up 24% compared with last year, with anxiety, stress, depression and suicidal thoughts among the concerns being shared.

They expect the demand to climb again when students return to school, highlighting the growing need for mental-health support that’s available around the clock.

The NBA released its 2026-27 schedule last week.
The Toronto Raptors open at home October 21st against the Chicago Bulls.
The Detroit Pistons tip-off the day before at Little Caesars Arena against the Boston Celtics October 20th.
Detroit will face Toronto four times, including two games at Scotiabank Arena (Jan 20, Mar 14) and two in Detroit (Nov 20, Mar 31)

A six-year-old rescue pug named Jinny Lu has been crowned the World’s Ugliest Dog for 2026.
For the 50th time, the competition was held Friday in Santa Rosa, California. Jinny Lu beat out dozens of unusual-looking dogs and won her owner, Michelle Grady, a five-thousand-dollar prize.
Jinny Lu was rescued from South Korea and adopted through a pug rescue organization four years ago. The contest celebrates dogs with unique appearances while also promoting rescue and adoption.
