Individuals wishing to register as candidates in the 2026 municipal election must have their nomination papers filed with the Clerk’s Office before 2 p.m. this afternoon.

Chatham-Kent’s 2026 municipal election is taking place on October 26th. Internet voting will be open October 8-16. Advanced voting polls will be open October 15, 16 and 17th.

The annual Airshow London returns to the London International Airport this weekend.

The SkyDrive Air Show runs today through Sunday, featuring aerial performances, more than 20 aircraft on the ground, food trucks, vendors and a free trolley system.

The drive-in format gives every vehicle its own designated parking spot, where spectators can watch the show from their cars or bring chairs and blankets and listen to show announcements on a portable FM radio.


The CNE opens today in Toronto.

The CNE is Canada’s largest annual fair and the fifth largest in North America, bringing in 1.5 million visitors each year. The first Canadian National Exhibition took place in 1879 to promote agriculture and technology in Canada.

This week marks the 10th anniversary of the final Tragically Hip concert held in Kingston back in 2016.

Almost one-third of Canadians tuned in. Lead singer Gord Downie passed away 14 months later.

Today the band releases “Live July 22 – August 20, 2016,” a collection of recordings from the 15-date Man Machine Poem tour.

Saturday, fans can relive one of the emotional concert as CBC rebroadcasts their final show.

The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration airs Saturday at 7 p.m.
