Chatham-Kent’s emergency severe water restrictions remain in effect, as crews work to get the water system back to normal following repairs to the main transmission line feeding the Chatham Water Treatment Plant.

Prairie Siding
Thamesville
Kent Bridge

Residents are being asked to use water only for essentials like drinking, brushing teeth and flushing toilets, and to avoid showers, laundry, lawn watering, car washing and filling pools.

There is no impact to drinking water safety or quality — the water is safe to drink.

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers season is over.

Rain cancelled the final game of the season on Sunday against the Toronto Maple Leafs – since the game did not have playoff implications, it will not be rescheduled.

The Barnstormers will finish the season 14-33, and 9th in the standings.

The speed limit on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent is now 110 kilometres an hour.

The speed limit has officially increased to 110 from Merlin Road east to Highway 40. The change builds on the increased speeds on Highway 401 from Windsor to Tilbury announced in 2022 and the 2024.

Speed limits of 110 km/hr will be in place on 89 per cent of provincial highways by the end of September.
