All Summer local breweries Sons of Kent, Bayside Brewing, Red Barn Brewing, and Glasstown Brewing Co. have teamed up for BrewFest; Outdoor summer parties hosted at the breweries sponsored by Teksavvy.

The Wallaceburg Farmers Market is open 8 a.m.-noon in the municipal parking lot on James St. It runs bi-weekly until October.

Ridgetown will host a Farmers Market Saturday 8-noon. The market will be held is Main St. every Saturday until Thanksgiving.

25 years ago today, on September 11, 2001, when America was forever changed.

At 8:46 and 9:03 that morning, two hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.

In total, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners. A third plane was flown into the Pentagon in Virginia, while passengers aboard the fourth plane fought back against the hijackers. That plane crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania.

The attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands more.

Canada/U.S border traffic will be stopped just before 8:46 a.m. this morning for Taps, the raising of the American flag and a moment of silence. If you’re crossing around that time, expect a brief delay at the border.

The 149th annual Western Fair opens today in London.

Southwestern Ontario’s biggest fair will open the gates at 3 p.m.

Free entrance for kids 10 and under and 65 plus, $20 for adults. The fair runs until September 17th. Go here for schedules and info.

Gas prices are about to take a sharp dip — but don’t get too comfortable, because another jump is coming Saturday.

Prices are expected to fall about eight cents a litre today. The drop is largely tied to the annual switch from more expensive summer gasoline to cheaper winter-blend fuel. The winter blend uses more low-cost butane, which helps engines start in colder weather and is less expensive to produce.

The relief at the pumps could be short-lived, with prices expected to jump again tomorrow.
