The 5th annual Crowfest begins today. Downtown Chatham will be filled with performances, food, and all things crow.

Kick off Crowfest with an evening of music, laughter, and high-energy entertainment at Dueling Pianos at the Garden Event Centre. On Thursday evening, the Flight of the Caesar world record attempt will take place at Sons of Kent.

On Friday, King Street West will shut down for vendors and buskers from across the world. Saturday starts at 10 a.m. with more vendors, buskers and the costume contest, wrapping up with the Busk After Dusk.

More people in Canada are born on September 16th than any other day of the year. This week has more birthdays than any other week of the year, with five days in the top ten. In the U.S., the most common birthday is September 9th.

Experts say more babies are made in the lead-up to the holidays than any other time of year, because there’s more cheer in the air, more time on our hands and more booze in our system.

The World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships begins today in Spain.

Three events are contested in the championships. In all events, placement is determined by the fastest completion within the time limit. There is a Team event, a Pairs event, and an Individual event.

The competition wraps up on Sunday.

Niagara Falls will not be getting another Ferris wheel after all.

The Ford government’s giant Ferris wheel planned for Niagara Falls has been scrapped.

The plan for the observation wheel at Queen Victoria Park, overlooking the Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls, was part of the Destination Niagara plan unveiled by the province last December in hopes of boosting tourism in the area.

The Niagara Parks Commission has canceled the RFP process. The plan now is to replace the existing Sky Wheel on Clifton Hill with a new 250-foot Ferris wheel, making it the tallest Ferris wheel in Canada.
