Environment Canada has issued a Yellow Fog Advisory for Chatham-Kent and area this morning.

Sunshine will burn that fog off later this morning with a high of 22° today.

Alberta’s reputation for being rat-free for decades might be in jeopardy.

Alberta has maintained its rat-free status since the 1950s, using a dedicated rat-control program with inspections, traps and public reporting. The province is considered one of the only places in the world without an established rat population — and officials take that very seriously.

Last Thursday, a Norway rat was found near Calgary, triggering a response from the province’s rat patrol. One rat doesn’t mean Alberta suddenly has an infestation, but crews are checking where it came from and whether others are nearby.
