Parts of northwestern Ontario will stop changing their clocks twice a year, bringing them in line with Manitoba.
The Province of Ontario will amend its Time Act on November 1st, allowing communities in northwestern Ontario west of the Manitoba border to stay on daylight time year-round.
amend its Time Act on November 1st, allowing communities west of the 90th meridian to stay on daylight time year-round. There’s overwhelming support from municipalities, First Nations and businesses.
The change will follow Manitoba’s decision to keep daylight time permanently. The change would apply only to parts of northwestern Ontario, not the entire province. British Columbia and Alberta have also made changes to their clocks this year.
Daylight Saving Time ends the morning of November 1st.

The City of Windsor started setting up on the annual Bright Lights Windsor display yesterday.

City crews are fencing off the park and the initial phase of the installations has begun.
Over 105,000 people went through last winter. Bright Lights Windsor includes light displays and a night market, and opens November 27th.

Pringles has launched a spooky contest called Once You Drop, offering one lucky winner an urn shaped like a Pringles can.
You can enter at OnceYouDrop.com and sign their “will and taste-ament,” committing to the idea of being buried in a Pringles can – fortunately or unfortunately not open to Canadians.
The grand prize includes an “after-lifetime supply” of Pringles — two lifetimes’ worth, calculated as one can a week for 200 years. They won’t actually be shipping chips for two centuries – they’ll just pay the winner cash up front to cover the weekly purchase.
The prize also includes a custom metal Pringles can urn with personalized engraving, valued at $500.
There’s actually a reason for the whole “buried in a Pringles can” idea.
Fredric Baur, the inventor of the Pringles can, requested to be cremated and buried in one when he died in 2008. His children honoured his wish. His son said they briefly debated which flavour to use before deciding on the original.
