Tonight is known as Mischief Night, or in some places, Devil’s Night. It’s the night before Halloween, when kids and teens traditionally play pranks on neighbours, friends and family.
The name depends on where you live. In Vermont and New Hampshire, it’s called Cabbage Night, dating back to a tradition of throwing cabbages at people’s homes. And around Detroit, it’s known as Devil’s Night — a name that’s become infamous over the years.

Big story out of the GOHL last night: the Legionnaires won.
For the first time since February 2025, the Sarnia Legionnaires hit the win column with a 4-1 win over the St. Thomas Stars Thursday night. The victory snapped a 67-game losing streak.
Now can they go back-to-back? Sarnia travels to Komoka for their next game on Saturday.

Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend, giving us an extra hour of sleep — but it’s also a good reminder to check your smoke alarms.
Clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, and the Chatham-Kent Fire Department is encouraging residents to change the batteries in their smoke alarms at the same time. It’s a simple step that can help keep you and your family safe. While you’re at it, make sure your alarms are working properly and replace any units that have reached the end of their service life.
