The CPKC Holiday Train is coming back to Chatham this holiday season!

It will stop at the John D. Bradley Centre on November 22nd at 1:45 p.m.

Magic! and Maris will be performing between 1:45 and 2:15.

The CPKC Holiday Train returns for its 2026 tour to raise food, money, and awareness for local food banks.

Since its inaugural journey in 1999, the Holiday Train has raised more than 28.4 million dollars and collected 5.6 million pounds of food for community food banks across Canada and the United States.

In 2025 alone, the Holiday Train raised a record more than 2 million dollars and collected more than 175,000 pounds of food during its four-week journey.

The NHL‘s Goal King has announced this will be his final season.

The Washington Capitals 41 year old captain Alex Ovechkin announced Monday that this will be his 22nd and final NHL season. Ovechkin says he loves the game, but he and his family believe it’s the right time to move on.

He broke Wayne Gretzky’s all-time NHL goals record in April 2025 and enters this season with 929 career goals. Ovechkin has spent his entire career in Washington, winning three MVP awards and leading the Capitals to their first Stanley Cup in 2018. He says his focus now is enjoying the season and making another playoff run.

The Backstreet Boys announced on Monday that they will be playing two more shows this coming February due to “CRAZY demand”.

The new dates will bring their residency in Toronto to six concerts – tying Taylor Swift when she last performed in the city. The last time the band played in Toronto was in 2022, when they performed two consecutive nights for the DNA World Tour.

The group will now play six shows at Rogers Centre next February — February 12th, 13th and 14th, then February 19th, 20th and 21st. The added dates are the 14th and 21st.

The shows are part of their “Into the Millennium – Homecoming: Live in Canada” residency, featuring songs from the classic Millennium album along with the group’s biggest hits. General ticket sales for all six shows begin Friday at 10 a.m.


Chatham-Kent’s first frost advisory of the season in effect.

Environment Canada issued a yellow-level advisory for the region, with patchy frost possible in some areas.

The good news — this looks to be a brief taste of winter. Environment Canada says temperatures should rebound through the week, with milder conditions arriving by tomorrow, and October is still expected to finish warmer than normal.
