Daylight saving time officially ended Sunday at 2 a.m., meaning brighter mornings and earlier sunsets.
The earlier darkness can create added risks for drivers and pedestrians. Pedestrian collisions increase by more than 30% during the evening commute between November and March. Pedestrians are encouraged to wear bright or reflective clothing, use designated crosswalks and stick to well-lit areas.
The time change can also affect health, with seasonal adjustments linked to headaches and heart problems. Pets can feel the impact too, as their feeding, exercise and medication routines are often tied to their owners’ schedules. Keep in mind they may need time to adjust to the one-hour shift.

It’s November, but the mild weather is sticking around for a little longer!
Mainly cloudy today, with the chance of a little drizzle and a high of 19.
Tomorrow looks pretty nice, too. A mix of sun and cloud, staying mostly dry, and even warmer with a high of 21!
Rain moves in later this week, and that’s when we’ll start to see temperatures come back down to more typical November levels.
