5 Things You Need To Know For November 3, 2026

November 3rd is the 307th day of the year. There are 58 days remaining until the end of the year.

The CKJobs Education and Training Fair is today from 3 to 7 p.m. at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre.

The free event brings together universities, colleges and skilled trades organizations from across Ontario. Visitors can explore education programs, financial aid and career opportunities, whether they’re starting out, entering the workforce or considering a career change.

Also happening today, Women Who Build: Real Stories, Career Paths and Opportunities in the Trades runs from 5 to 6 p.m. Women working in the trades will share their experiences and advice about opportunities in construction, manufacturing, welding and more.

Donors are needed!

There’s a blood donor clinic today in Wallaceburg at the UAW Hall 1 to 7 p.m.

No walk-in appointments are available. Book your appointment at Blood.ca, call 1-888-2-DONATE or use the apps.

If you’re unable to donate today, the next clinic locally will also be at the Portuguese Canadian Club Tuesday.

Americans head to the polls today for the 2026 midterm elections, a vote that could significantly reshape President Donald Trump’s final two years in the White House.

Voters will decide all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, along with 35 Senate seats, determining whether Republicans maintain control of Congress or Democrats make gains. The economy, healthcare, immigration, gas prices and the war with Iran are among the major issues shaping the campaign. While Trump’s name isn’t on the ballot, the results are widely seen as a measure of public opinion on his presidency. The results could offer an early indication of whether U.S. tariff policies are likely to remain in place over the next two years.

The outcome will also influence how much room he has to advance his agenda before the 2028 presidential election.

The Windsor-Detroit Tunnel celebrates its 96th anniversary today.

The tunnel opened November 3, 1930. It was constructed in 26 months using groundbreaking techniques, and at the time of its completion was the first and only underwater international vehicular tunnel in the world.

To this day it remains one of North America’s busiest border crossings, accommodating more than 12,000 vehicles daily.

To celebrate the anniversary, tunnel staff will be handing out commemorative gifts and tunnel-themed swag to customers crossing this morning, while supplies last.

It’s now Movember, and that means moustaches are making a comeback for a good cause.

Throughout November, men are encouraged to grow a moustache to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. What started as a prostate cancer initiative has grown to include testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

There are several ways to get involved, including growing a Mo, taking on a fitness challenge or fundraising. You can sign up or learn more at Movember.com.
