Most 16-year-olds spend their weekend at the movies or hanging out with friends, but Raja Krishnaswamy was graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree.

“I am proud of myself. I mean, it’s not every 16-year-old that graduates with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.”

His parents Raja and Maria say their son’s love of learning started at a very young age. He was reading at the age of 3 and doing algebra a couple of years after that.

After attending kindergarten at a public school and not finding it challenging enough, Raja’s parents put him into an online Charter school, which allowed him to do two grades in one year.

So at age 9, he was off to Community College, which he graduated from at 13 years old, with associate’s degrees in mathematics and software economics.

Then he was off to the University of Pittsburgh where is hit the books hard, but still made time to hang out with friends he made on campus.

Raja is now planning on getting his master’s at Pitt.
