A pizza guy in Rhode Island had just delivered a pizza to a family on Saturday, when their two-year-old kid stopped him and asked for a hug.  And it turned out he really needed that hug, because he’d just lost his own teenage daughter days earlier.  Apparently she’d been battling mental health issues.  The two-year-old’s mom posted a video online, and the pizza guy got in touch.  Then a local news station found out about it.  He told a reporter that it felt like his daughter was reaching out to him.

ENTERTAINMENT

The cast of “Friends” will be netting quite a hefty sum for their appearance on HBO Max’s upcoming reunion special. They’re reportedly making at least $2.5 million each for the program. The cast was originally offered $1 million (the same amount they were making per episode for the final two seasons of Friends), but all six actors turned it down. The reunion special will be the first time all six Friends stars have appeared on screen together since the show’s May 2004 finale.

Chris Pratt was stunned after the remains of a couple missing for 80 years were discovered on the Iceland set of his film “The Tomorrow War”. Shortly before production on the sci-fi movie began, the frozen bodies were found in a crevice on the glacier on which Pratt and his co-stars were due to shoot. During an appearance on “Ellen”, Pratt said: “They were fully preserved in their glacier hiking clothes from 1930 or 1940. They had their supplies and rations. They were lovers and they fell down in a hole and just went missing…”

Six Dinner Etiquette Rules for Kids from the 15th Century

Britain’s national library has an etiquette book from the 1400s that lists a bunch of dinner table rules kids were expected to follow.

So could your kid hack it in 15th century England?  Here are six rules they’d have to be able to follow at the dinner table . . .

  1. “Don’t pick your ears and nose” at dinner.  Hopefully that one still applies in 2020.

  1. No spitting at the table.  Also a good one.

  1. “Don’t burp like you had a bean in your throat.”  (???)

  1. “Don’t pick your teeth with your knife.”  I guess toothpicks are more accessible than they were then.

  1. “Don’t be greedy with cheese.”  The modern equivalent might be something like, “Don’t hog the mashed potatoes.”

  1. “Don’t laugh, grin, or talk too much.”  In other words, shut up and stop screwing around.

GOOD NEWS

A 30-year-old guy named Justin Carter in Louisville, Kentucky robbed a Raising Cane’s fast food joint on Saturday night.  At the time, the restaurant was basically empty . . . there was just one couple sitting at a table in the back.

But they happened to be off-duty cops.

Chase McKeown and Nichole McKeown are both on the police force in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  Saturday was their date night, and they decided to get some chicken fingers.

And when they realized the guy at the register had a gun and was robbing the place, they both jumped into action.

From the surveillance video, you can see them both get up, pull their weapons, and take different paths toward the register.  Justin saw them and took off running out of the store . . . and they ran after him.

They caught him a few blocks away and held him until a few on-duty cops came to arrest him.  He was charged with robbery, receipt of stolen property, and a felon in possession of a gun.

Two guys Kept Their Drugs in a Bag Labeled “Bag Full of Drugs”

Two guys named Ian Simmons and Joshua Reinhardt got pulled over for speeding near Pensacola, Florida and Joshua had an active warrant out, so cops searched their car.

And they found two bags they immediately thought might be full of drugs . . . because each bag had printing on the side that said, “BAG FULL OF DRUGS.”

They’re actually make-up bags you can buy online.  So the fact that they say “Bag Full of Drugs” is supposed to be a joke . . . but these guys actually kept drugs in them.

Cops searched the bags and found 75 grams of meth . . . three-and-a-half grams of fentanyl . . . 1.4 grams of GHB . . . 1 gram of cocaine . . . and 15 MDMA pills.

Police Catch Guys Who Stole Drugs From a CVS by Following Their Trail of Empty Pill Bottles

Last month, three guys in Clearwater, Florida robbed a CVS . . . and they clearly put a lot of time into the prep. They struck at 5:00 A.M. wearing surgical gloves, they waved guns and tied up the employees with zip ties, and they knew exactly what they wanted to steal:  As many bottles of opioids like hydrocodone and oxycodone as they could get their hands on.

They ended up getting away with 10,000 or so pills.  But as the cops were investigating the scene, they started noticing pill bottles on the street.  Apparently, as the guys sped away, they were emptying pills they stole into bags, then tossing the bottles out of their car.

So the cops followed the trail of pill bottles . . . all the way to a house where they found the robbers and $320,000 worth of pills.

Two 19 year old’s and an 18 year old were all arrested.  And they were all charged with armed robbery, drug trafficking, and false imprisonment.

EATING A BIG BREAKFAST COULD HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT

Go ahead and eat a big breakfast if you feel like it. German researchers have found that eating a big breakfast could help you burn twice the amount of calories that eating a big dinner can.

In addition, eating a big breakfast was connected to losing weight and keeping blood sugar levels steady. On the flip side, having a low-calorie breakfast was linked to increases in appetite, especially for sweets.

A researcher says, “We recommend that patients with obesity as well as healthy people eat a large breakfast rather than a large dinner to reduce body weight and prevent metabolic disease.”

THE BRIDE WORE BROOKS:
A wedding can be a very formal occasion, and often there is a lot of pressure to make it impossibly grand.

But there is a new trend that threatens to swing things in a completely opposite direction. Instagram is filling up with shots of brides exchanging uncomfortable fancy wedding shoes for good ol’ sneakers.

The idea has become so popular that Converse has created their own “Wedding Collection” sneaker line in white, black and metallic colors. They come in low top and high-top designs, and are even unisex, so the bride and groom can match. Options include the words “husband” and “wifey” printed along the backstay (above the heel).

And some brides go that extra mile and have their shoes embellished with sequins and rhinestones to match their dress, or have them monogrammed with details such as the date of the wedding and their future name.

LUKE BRYAN KEPT THE CALORIES LOW IN NEW BEER

Luke Bryan‘s new Two Lane American Golden Lager is making its way to stores in a handful of southern states in just a couple weeks. The beer is made with only American-grown ingredients, and it’s low in calories, something that was important to Luke.

He tells us: [“We knew we wanted it to be low calorie. We didn’t want it to be a high calorie beer. We knew we wanted it to be under a hundred and we landed at 99, but when you start shaving calories then you compromise flavors and stuff like that so we really worked on the integrity of the flavors and stuf like that. I think it’s just a good, drinkable beer that even now when I drink it I’m just fired up.”]

Two Lane American Golden Lager will first be available in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia on March 2nd.

FAST FACTS

Luke’s new album, Born Here, Live Here, Die Here, will be released on April 24th.

LUKE COMBS WAS BEING ‘NOSY’ WHEN CARLY PEARCE HIT WAS WRITTEN

The very first song that Luke Combs ever co-wrote with a fellow artist is Carly Pearce‘s current hit single, “I Hope You’re Happy Now.” Luke tells us that he was digging into the story of Carly’s then-new love, Michael Ray, when the song emerged from the conversation. [“It was kind of right when she had just announced that her and Michael Ray were dating and so I was just being nosy pretty much and I was like, ‘Hey, give me the run down of this whole thing,’ and she just kind of started telling me the story of how they met and how she left the person she was with before, and I had had that title in my phone for a long time and always thought it was a really cool play on words.”]

“I Hope You’re Happy Now” will be included on Carly’s self-titled sophomore album, due out on Valentine’s Day (February 14th).

FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE PITCH SONG TO CARRIE UNDERWOOD ON INSTAGRAM

Florida Georgia Line members Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are using the power of social media to get a message to Carrie Underwood — they want to collaborate and they’ve got the perfect song. The duo shared a video on Instagram yesterday (Tuesday, Feb. 25th) of them in the studio listening to a song they just recently wrote with Julia Michaels and speaking directly to Carrie, Tyler says, “We’d really love for Carrie Underwood to hear this song. We think it would be a massive collaboration; we’d love to send it to you. We don’t have your email or your phone number, so we’re just going to play a little.”

Tyler and Brian also captioned the clip with a note to Carrie writing, “@carrieunderwood whether you know it or not, we are huge fans of you and we have always wanted to do a song with you we’ve just been waiting on the right one……We think this is it.”

In other FGL news, the duo was surprised backstage during Big Machine Label Group’s luncheon at Country Radio Seminar on Friday (Feb. 21st) by Pandora’s presentation of the Billionaire plaque for surpassing five billion lifetime spins, in addition to naming them in the Top 10 most-spun Country acts in the music platform’s 20-year history.
