The View From Here – Wellness Wednesday
April 23, 2025 10:54 amHappy Wednesday friends! I wanted to check in and see how you were doing. How are you feeling? Like, REALLY feeling?
If I’m being honest – I’ve been having a hard time with a few things. Over two months with my walking boot. I thought I could finally be rid of it. I took it off this weekend. I think I pushed it too hard and too fast and was feeling some pain again – so the boot is back on. I’m trying to stay positive. Thankful for the recovery process as slow as it might be. Our health care is free and for that I’m grateful. I’m just anxious and eager to get out walking again. Just to soak up the sunshine and take in all the green! So much has come to life in the last week! It’s incredible. The trees are coming back to life. The grass is green. We’ve got dandelions again! And I’m not even mad. (smile) It just means spring and warm weather and summer will be here before you know it.
Sitting on my butt way too much the past few months has been a challenge. I’m used to morning exercise and morning walks and in that two months I’ve gained ten pounds and my clothes are fitting pretty snug and I know I need to do something before I give in and buy bigger size clothes.
Kids leaving home has been hard on the heart as well.
Celebrating Easter this weekend was a reminder of what’s missing. The energy. The fun. No Easter Egg hunts in our house. No chocolate Easter bunny sitting in a basket on the kitchen table.
The vibe was very different – both happy and sad.
It’s been a year of change in our house and it’s been an adjustment.
And sometimes we get into those difficult life seasons and we feel kinda stuck. Even if the situation is beyond our control – like falling down the chairs and ending up in a walking boot for two months. (smile)
What do you do when you feel stuck?
What do you do when you don’t know what to feel?
We’ve got a lot happening in the world around us. We’ve got tarrifs and politics and an election in less than a week. Everyone has an opinion and there’s a lot of information being shared online. Sometimes I think our world would be so much kinder if we didn’t have social media. I often think of walking away entirely. But I’d miss too many people and connections. Instead I will make a promise to not read the comments.
I found this blog today and thought it felt fitting for me and what I’m feeling and wondered if you might get something out of it as well.
