Wellness Wednesday – Who Is Ready For Change?
August 26, 2026 10:32 amI have an idea for us. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while.
I want to treat September like January 1st. Without the pressure of resolutions, but the excitement of starting a routine, starting fresh, setting goals and letting go of things that no longer serve you.
In my house, there’s been a lot of change over the past few years – kids left home, friend groups have shrunk, and I’ve had some injuries that have led to slowing down my fitness routine and my overall health and wellness.
I have noticed lately I’m spending way too much time sitting. I’m bingewatching shows, and scrolling WAY too much on social media. I’ve also noticed that I need some change. I need to set some new goals for myself before I lose myself.
Anybody else feel like you’re ready to set some new goals for yourself? Anybody else feel like they could use a reset?
Kids go back to school in a few weeks and with it, a lot of people find themselves craving that structure, that new and familiar routine.
I want us to think about what WE want for this season. Let’s evaluate and regroup.
What do you want for yourself right now? What changes do you want to make? What do you want more of? What do you need to let go of?
I’m 54 and in menopause, and what worked for me even five years ago, no longer does. I’m looking to rebuild a wellness routine, dial in my nutrition, read books instead of social media feeds, and take one day a week to take a walk WITHOUT the dog. I walk our dog every day – because she needs it, and I love doing it – but I want a day to walk by myself. To listen to a podcast, or the sound of the birds, without focusing only on the dog.
I’m going to share a fun workplace FITNESS BINGO challenge next week that will encourage us all to stay active even in the workplace and give us a little motivation to do more good things for ourselves – like eat a veggie, pack your own lunch, get up from your desk to go chat with a co-worker instead of emailing or messaging.
So – your homework for this next week is to think about what you want for September. Set some goals. Make some plans. Think about what you want for yourself as we head into the fall season.
And keep listening for our Wellness Wednesday as we share important things to know about taking care of our bodies – through mental health and physical health.
